The Barbara F Cullen Musical Theatre Training Program
Quadruple Threat
Our training offers students the opportunity to explore the many opportunities acting provides. There is no such thing as a musical theatre actor– there are actors, singers, and dancers. A performer or artist who can act, sing, dance and do all 3 at their highest level is what we call the “true quadruple threat.”

THE BARBARA F. CULLEN MUSICAL THEATRE SCHOLARSHIP
PAL (formerly Dancers Center for Training) began with the vision of Beth Craig Hall and Barbara F. Cullen. “Barb,” as everyone who knew her, was a force of nature and the kindest, most supportive, and encouraging teacher on the planet. Barb believed that the best talent lived in our community and she dedicated her life to creating art for that community.
Barb’s vision was to provide consistent top-of-the-industry training–something she had not found locally. And she knew what was needed to help raise the bar. Barb was the epitome of class, grace, and unwavering standards.
Barb passed away suddenly on December 18th, 2020. After this devastating loss, DCT renamed the musical theatre program the Barbara F. Cullen Musical Theatre Training Program and offered a scholarship to a high school student to train in the three disciplines Acting, Dancing, and Singing. Barb believed you had to train in all three to succeed and access to that training was key. This scholarship helps provide impeccable training to a student who exhibits some of the same qualities as Barb–a disciplined, passionate, servant-leader!
